About Us

The purpose of the First Presbyterian Church Nursery School is to design and implement a program that meets the cognitive, social, and emotional needs of our community of children. We achieve this by providing a safe and appropriate physical environment, a professional and caring staff, and a developmentally appropriate curriculum that challenges and enriches each child's experience, while creating an atmosphere of love and security.

We encourage positive relationships with teachers and classmates, promote a healthy curiosity about the world around us, and prepare our children to be enthusiastic and successful in their school experience. Nursery School should be a happy place to learn and grow!

Our program is an outreach of the First Presbyterian Church of Greenwich. The operation of the nursery school is the responsibility of the Director in cooperation with the Pre-School Committee, the Parent/Teacher Advisory Group and the Church administrative staff.

The Director and teaching staff bring a great resource of professional experience and expertise in the field of early childhood education. Each of our staff is a member of:
  • The National Association for the Education of Young Children
  • The Southern Fairfield County Association for the Education of Young Children.

The Nursery school staff is committed to ongoing professional development through continuing educational experiences, CPR and First-Aid training as well as monthly meetings with the Director.

The First Presbyterian Church Nursery School is fully licensed by the State of Connecticut Department of Health Services. It extends its courtesies to all families regardless of race, ethnicity, or socio-economic background.
