Little Explorers Summer Experience - Registration Card and Fees

In keeping with First Presbyterian Church Nursery School's early childhood philosophy, Little Explorers is an enriching summer program offering and encouraging EXPLORATION, CREATIVITY and CURIOSITY.

A Balanced Program
Little Explorers offers directed instruction inside the classroom by veteran faculty as well as free discovery outdoors including water play, a state-of-the-art playground with weather station, an organic garden and access to our newly designed media center.

What will my children gain?
Creative Expression through the use of materials, performance, group activities and a variety of new media. Musical Experiences through bodies in motion, rhythm and percussion instruments and the joy of singing. Scientific Investigation and Exploration of the Earth through simple experiments, journaling, predicting outcomes as well as cultivating, gardening and harvesting. Gross and Fine Motor Skills through exploratory play, puzzles, art projects, and cooking.

Summer Camp Schedule
Session I: A World of Discovery: June 17th – July 5th
The Wonders of Weather
Exploring the Animal Kingdom
Learning Lab Experiments

Session II: Bodies in Motion: July 8th – July 26th
The Magic of Music
Creative Dramatics
Discovering Movement

Session III: Children Around the World: July 29th – August 9th
A special two week program focused on understanding and appreciating the cultures of Mexico (week one) and Africa (week two). Children will delve into the cultures through language, geography, music and cooking.

Little Explorers will meet from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm on the following schedule:

2.5 & 3-year-olds: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday

4, 5, & 6-year-olds: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday

Children will be grouped by age and interest.

Continuity with the Nursery School Program
Little Explorers is a part of the education program of the First Presbyterian Church Nursery School whose purpose is to meet the social, emotional, and cognitive needs of our children. The program provides a safe and appropriate physical environment, a professional and caring staff, and an atmosphere of love and security. It encourages positive relationships with teachers and peers, and promotes a healthy curiosity about the world.

Camp Leadership and Staff
The Little Explorers program is under the supervision of Director, Patricia Bria Case. Mrs. Case has had many years of experience in the field of early childhood education as a classroom teacher, director, and program coordinator for Little Explorers. She is responsible for the development and implementation of the camp program and the hiring and training of staff. The Little Explorers staff consists of at least two qualified adult professionals with each class, all of whom are members of the nursery school teaching staff.

Information and Registration
A Little Explorers T-shirt, snack, and special activities are included in the camp fee. A non-refundable $200 fee is due at the time of registration and is applicable to the camp fee.
