Everyday Math

Everyday Mathematics Pre-K program is a research based curriculum developed as a part of the University of Chicago School Mathematics Project. It is used in the Greenwich and Stamford public school systems and in other private and public schools in Fairfield County. Everyday Math reflects the State and national goals for mathematics and includes the following features:

  • A curriculum the explores mathematical content beyond arithmetic
  • A focus on developing children’s everyday activities and routines
  • An instructional approach that revisits key ideas regularly
  • An emphasis on curriculum and team work
  • A commitment to home/school partnership

Because young children’s early experiences shape their attitude toward mathematics, a curriculum that is engaging , encouraging, and designed to build children’s understanding over time is key to laying the groundwork for further mathematics learning.
