Four-Year-Old Program

The four-year-old program is offered every morning Monday – Friday from 9:00 – 11:30 a.m. or afternoons, Monday – Thursday 12:15 – 3:25 p.m.

The core curriculum for this program is presented through an inter-disciplinary approach based on Unit Theme Development, interfaced with the Connecticut Pre-School Frameworks, and age appropriate developmental State Benchmarks. The central themes are introduced and enhanced through experiences in creative multi-media art, music and movement, language and literature, science and discovery, mathematics, dramatic play, and fine and gross motor skills development and readiness.

Every four-year-old child in the morning program has the opportunity to extend their day to 1:00 p.m., Monday – Thursday to further their development with specific components of the core curriculum as well as have lunch and social interaction with teaching staff and classmates. Children remain with their friends and teachers from the morning program during extended day to fully benefit from this experience. Enrollment for extended day begins in concert with registration for the following academic year, or at the beginning of each semester.

Enrichment Programming has become an important part of our effort to provide a rich and varied experience for our children. Enrichment is offered Monday-Thursday from 1:00-2:00pm. These creative programs are designed to be a complement to daily activities by providing a unique “addition’ to the curriculum, and designed and implemented by our multi-talented nursery school staff.
