Children's Ministry
Jesus... took a little child and put it by his side, and said to them, "Whoever welcomes this child in my name welcomes me,
and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me; for the least among all of you is the greatest."
Luke 9:47-48

Following Jesus' example, we welcome children of all ages to First Presbyterian Church. We seek to teach them about God's love through a variety of programs and activities.

Children in Worship (K-7th Grade)

During the Church School year, children ages 5 and up are invited to attend the first 15 minutes of the worship service with their parents. During this first part of the worship service, a children's sermon is offered designed especially for them.

At the conclusion of the children's sermon (roughly 10:15 a.m.), the children will be excused to attend their regular sunday school classes for ages K-7th grade. Teachers will escort them to their classrooms.

Immediately following the service, parents should pick up their children, 3rd grade and below, from their classrooms. All other classes will be excused to the Fellowship Hour following the worship service. The Kindergarten class is at the end of the hall on the second floor. 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade rooms are down the hall on the third floor. We encourage children to join their parents for refreshments during social hour.

Childcare and Classes (Infants, Toddlers, 3 and 4 Year Olds)

Childcare is also available for infants, toddlers and ages 3 and 4 years old. Children may be dropped off before the service. Infants and toddler rooms are found beside the elevators on the first floor. Classes for the 3 and 4 year olds are beside the elevators on the second floor. Immediately following the service, parents should pick up their children.
