Habitat for Humanity 

Our church is one of many supporting this international Christian group dedicated to providing affordable housing for low-income working families with children. Help is needed in:

Planning for our annual housing project. Evening meetings will be held as needed at the church from March through May of each year.

Construction at the site in Bridgeport. Spend a day during May or June with other members of FPCG actually constructing a new home for a needy family. Experience is not necessary and you can apply your new skills to your own home!

Providing lunch services by making and delivering lunch to our hungry and thirsty workers at the site!

Midnight Run 

Many hands can make light work of preparing food and clothing for distribution to hungry homeless people in New York City, so your hands are needed! Member families will gather on a Saturday afternoon in the fall to prepare brown-bag meals, make soup, and sort clothes. Member adults will then deliver these gifts to the homeless in NYC that same night, together with Midnight Run organizers.

Prisoner Visitation and Support 

Good listeners are needed once a month to visit with women prisoners at the Danbury Federal Correctional Institution, to provide compassionate contact for people who do not ordinarily receive visits from family or friends. A training tape and guidance from other FPCG volunteers will help prepare you.

 

Shelter for the Homeless

Pacific house in Stamford offers food, shelter, and re-entry programs to about sixty homeless men. You can help us sponsor an on-site meal by cooking, transporting, and serving food to shelter clients.
