The success of our Nursery School program depends upon cooperation among parents, the Director, and the professional staff. Participation by parents in various programs offered throughout the school year is encouraged. These programs include, but are not limited to: * Parents Orientation Meetings Parents assist the teaching staff in various ways that contribute to the success of our program. Field Trips: parents help to arrange for visits to places of interest in the community. Class Mothers: parents assist staff in planning holiday parties, arranging for drivers for fields trips, etc. "Sharing": parents contribute any talent or resource to share with the children or staff.
Conferences are scheduled twice yearly, in November and March. These conferences provide parents and teachers with the opportunity to share their thoughts and perceptions regarding the childrens' progress. Parents who wish to arrange for additional conferences should contact the Director or teacher to schedule a convenient conference time. The Pre-school Committee is composed of the Nursery School Director and those Nursery School parents who are members of the First Presbyterian Church. This committee meets monthly to share concerns and to formulate policy regarding the operation of the Nursery School. The Parent-Teacher Advisory Group plans special activities enjoyed by the children and families throughout the school year. Any parent who wishes to participate may serve, with the Director, on this committee. For more information contact . |
