The purpose of the First Presbyterian Church Nursery School is to meet the cognitive, social, and emotional needs of our children. We hope to achieve this end by providing a safe and appropriate physical environment, a professional and caring staff, a developmentally appropriate curriculum, and an atmosphere of love and security.

We hope to provide creative and challenging experiences that will encourage positive relationships with teachers and peers, that will promote a healthy curiosity about the world around us, and that will prepare our children to be enthusiastic about and successful in their school experience. Nursery school should be a happy place to learn and to grow.

The Nursery School is part of the outreach program of the First Presbyterian Church. The operation of the Nursery School is the responsibility of the Director in cooperation  with the Pre-School Committee, the Parent~Teacher Advisory Group, and the church administrative staff.

The Director and professional staff bring to the program a great resource of experience in the field of early childhood education. Each staff person is a member of:

The First Presbyterian Church Nursery School is fully licensed by the State of Connecticut Department of Health Services. It extends its courtesies to all families regardless of race, color, or creed.
