Dear Nursery School Family,

The month of May brings the promise of sunny days and exciting times as our school year draws to a close. In the coming weeks, we will: witness the wonder of caterpillars turning into butterflies, honor our Moms for Mother’s Day, begin to plant and cultivate our organic garden, and enjoy the warmth and beauty of Spring in Greenwich.

Children and Programs:
Our final enrichments, “Pretzel Playmates”, “Gardening Into Spring” and “A Taste of Italy” will conclude a wonderful year of programs that have offered our children exceptional opportunities for learning and discovery. Once again, the teaching staff has done a superb job in sharing their extraordinary skills and talents!.

Walk Down our Hallways and you will see:
-Life on the Pond in the 3’s classroom as we patiently watch tadpoles turn into frogs , and become acquainted with the underwater life of a snail!
-Metamorphosis begins with nurturing our recently acquired caterpillars and ending with (we hope) beautiful butterflies in every classroom! -Baby Animals have moved on to the Farm in the 2 ½’s classroom as the children learn all about piglets, chicks, and ducklings. -A Brown Bear, Brown Bear (Eric Carle) Picnic will be enjoyed by our “Two-by-Two”s and invited guests as children “read” their hand-crafted books, twirl with their favorite Teddy, and snack on blueberries and (of course) Teddy Grahams.
-“Meet the Masters” in all the 4’s classes encouraged children to research and recreate the works of gifted artists, The study culminated in a wonderful exhibition of the children’s art works that was enjoyed by parents and friends plus wine (grape juice) and cheese!
-Travelling through Europe, the Bridges to Learning Class, has gained an appreciation for the amazing architecture of the great historical cities as well as experiencing the tasty cuisines from this bountiful area of the world.
