Parent Involvement
There are many ways you can get involved at First Presbyterian Church Nursery School.
Some of the PTAG roles this year include:
Classroom Parents - Each class has a lead class parent and several lieutenants. The lead class parent coordinates class photographers, events and parties with the teachers and class gifts with parents. They also work with the teachers to identify classroom needs and arrange special activities for the class.
All parents are welcome to volunteer to host a class coffee, take photographs, help with field trips, organize or contribute to class parties, read a story to the class or help with other special events.
Event Co Chair – This parent is responsible for coming up with a theme, planning the event and running the operations of the event with a co chair and group of volunteers who take on specific jobs to make the event run smoothly. Specific responsibilities vary event to event.
Class Coffee Coordinator - This parent works with the Director and the hosts of the class coffee to organize and schedule class coffees with the Director’s calendar.
Yearbook DVD Creator - The chair(s) create a DVD yearbook of all the children enrolled in the nursery school which is presented at the Spring Social. Volunteers take photos of your child’s class and put together an end of the year photo retrospective.
Class Photographer - These parents take pictures throughout the school year of their child’s class and submit them to the yearbook creator responsible for putting together a DVD that includes a picture of every child enrolled in the nursery school. All parents can participate!
School Merchandiser - The chair(s) work with the Nursery School Committee to choose, order and track merchandise, create marketing material and attend all applicable nursery school events to sell items. Volunteers help to market and sell merchandise at nursery school events.
Communications Liaison - This person will work with the Nursery School Committee and the Church Staff to keep everyone informed about nursery school events and functions. Duties may also include assisting in creation and production of the First Families newsletter content.
If you have a special talent to share or can think of a role that is not listed above, please speak with the PTAG chair to discuss how you can get involved.
