Programs
As your child becomes a part of our learning community, he/she will begin the journey of discovering the many exciting possibilities and rewards of each new classroom experience. We look to create and implement a program that will engage, enrich and inspire each student as the foundation for further success in learning is put into place.
Our Program Goals are based upon a philosophy of developmentally appropriate curriculum interfaced with the Connecticut Pre-School Framework and current suggested state benchmarks for learning. These goals are integrated in the classroom through Unit Theme Development. Based upon the needs and interests of our learning community, units of study are prepared and presented through an inter-disciplinary approach to teaching. "Weaving and Webbing" many experiences in the areas of art, music and movement, language, literature, science and discovery, dramatic play, creative multi-media experiences, fine and gross motor skills development, and readiness skills both indoor and outdoor, creates a learning model designed to meet individual and group needs while creating an exciting and enriching pre-school experience.
An important part of developing a challenging and rewarding programs is INNOVATION. Enhancing core curriculum and introducing complementary experiences to daily programs reflects our philosophy of striving to meet the changing needs of our learning community.
Each child brings to us an individual portrait that defines her/him by family, language, life experience, prior knowledge, travel, etc. It is our responsibility to embrace what makes every child special and incorporate that appreciation into creating a program that will make all of our children critical thinkers, problem solvers, thoughtful readers, good citizens, and kind friends.
