PTAG
PTAG (Parent Teacher Advisory Group) helps plans and executes all of the events and outreach/fellowship activities throughout
the school year with the involvement of parents and teachers. All events are self funded
and proceeds from events benefit our Wishes, Improvements, Needs (WIN) fund. The 2009-2010 PTAG chair is Fiona Roth and the vice
chair is Jill Babb. PTAG reports to the Nursery School Committee. For a list of PTAG events, click here.
Parent Involvement
At First Presbyterian Church Nursery School, there are many ways for parents to get
involved. Parents are encouraged to volunteer to share in the children’s experience and further enrich it.
Some of the ways to be involved include: attending the various school and PTAG events, playing the role of class parent or class photographer, volunteering at a school event, reading a story to your child’s class, coming to a class party and chaperoning a field trip.
Many PTAG sponsored events need chairpersons and several volunteers to run smoothly. For a list of volunteer opportunities, click here.
Nursery School Committee
The Nursery School Committee oversees the operation of the First Presbyterian Church Nursery School and the “Two-by-Two” program. The committee is responsible for setting policy and managing the execution of curriculum and enrichment, mission and outreach, capital improvements and communications. In addition, the committee supports the Parent Teacher Advisory Group. Working in concert with the church, the committee chair sits on several committees at the church including Session (the governing body of the church) to represent the interests of the nursery school. The committee meets once a month during the academic school year to discuss nursery school business.
Christine Walker chairs the Nursery School Committee and the members are Jill Babb, Patricia B. Case, Director, Marcy Hanna, Kate Minchin, Karen Oh, Fiona Roth and Christine Pascarella.
