FPCNS Outreach Program

FPCNS Outreach Program
Our Mission Statement:
The First Presbyterian Church Nursery School is committed to Building Bridges with the Community of Greenwich through outreach programs that reach children, teens, families and the elderly. Through the program, families can serve their community together, educating our children and giving them first hand experience on helping others while underprivileged individuals and families receive the help they need.

Our Partners:
First Presbyterian Church of Greenwich: In collaboration with the church and its Youth Group and Sunday School children, the nursery school serves the Community of Greenwich.

Head Start of Armstrong Court: In collaboration with the Housing Authority of Greenwich, Head Start is operated by and incorporated into the Family Center Program. Head Start offers a preschool education for three and four-year old children of families that reside in Greenwich Public Housing. Head Start helps children make a successful transition from preschool into kindergarten of the Greenwich Public School System.

Greenwich Department of Social Services:This group protects and promotes the welfare of the most vulnerable individuals in the community through support and services of the highest quality that maximize competency, independence, and quality of life.

Programs and Events:
Book Fund: Donating books to Head Start to promote literacy.

"Giving Thanks and Sharing Blessings": Food drive twice a year to replenish the food pantries of Head Start with perishable goods as well as canned food.

"Hat and Mitten Tree": In addition to keeping our youth warm, FPCNS provides presents to children and teens through Greenwich Department of Social Services.

BYOBG: The Bring Your Old Baby Gear event provides up to 100 families registered with Greenwich Department of Social Services the access to gently used baby gear as well as brand new personal need items.

The proceeds of Pancake Breakfast, Holiday Plant Sale and private family donations make it possible for FPCNS to offer scholarships to families who do not qualify for Greenwich Department of Social Services but cannot afford to send their child to nursery school.
