Deacons
We, the Deacons of First Presbyterian Church, have the responsibility and privilege to encourage and lead our Church family, through our example, in caring for one another as Christ cares for us.
At First Presbyterian Church, people have all kinds of needs - they are recovering from surgery or childbirth, grieving, lonely, ill, in difficult life transition, or otherwise in a time where they welcome the ministry of care from our congregation. Deacons are the "servants" to and "caregivers" of the congregation. In a very real way, Deacons are the hands and heart of the Church in our ministry of caring. Serving as a Deacon of the First Presbyterian Church Greenwich is a privilege and a blessing. It is also an opportunity for spiritual growth and fellowship.
As Deacons, we get to know other church members in a deeper way, serving alongside them and growing in our understanding of the burdens people carry and how the church can help - with a meal, a ride, a phone call, or a helping hand. We host a spring lunch for our senior members and outreach to the men's homeless shelter in Stamford.
Below is a list of our current Deacons and the flocks they lead. Each flock is named after an Epistle (letter) from the New Testament. The Epistles were written to inspire and strengthen members of the early church. Our prayer is that our flocks may serve the same purpose today. To determine your flock assignment and to connect with your Deacon, start by contacting Amy Dana or Nancilee Holland.
