Elders

The Communications Team provides information internally to our members, staff, the local community and to greater Greenwich and beyond. Our goal is to facilitate engagement, building an intergenerational community that reflects our passion.

The Children's Ministry Team seeks to introduce children to church life, their church family and to their individual faith through providing engaging Sunday School experiences, family fellowship opportunities, and through service projects.

The Clerk of Session maintains and preserves the records of the church, including the minutes of the Session and congregational meetings, and the rolls and registers, (membership, births, baptisms, deaths, and elders). Clerks may assist the moderator in docket preparation or serve as a sounding board for the moderator.

The Congregational Life Committee creates a nurturing and sustaining environment for our church members and provides a warm, welcoming atmosphere for all. In joyful celebration, festivity, and feasting, our vibrant intergenerational community journeys together in faith. A variety of engaging events, for all ages and interests, are offered year-round in collaboration with the various church committees to ensure inclusiveness and friendship.

The Finance Committee, in close cooperation with the clergy, staff, and Session, routinely meets throughout the year to ensure the various missions of FPCG have the appropriate financial support necessary to achieve their respective goals. In addition to the annual budgeting process, the Committee also continuously monitors financial reporting and associated management of the Church and Nursery School, including compliance with governing bodies, policies, procedures, and internal controls.

The Nominating Committee serves a one year term to select members from the congregation to serve as officers, elders and deacons and to search committees for ministers. They seek candidates who have strong faith, participate in church activities, have leadership qualities and can work in a cohesive group with accountability.

The Personnel Committee supports a workplace environment that fosters collaboration, productivity, and professional development by offering the tools for staff to perform their ministry efficiently and effectively. With coordination from staff, the Committee monitors the allocation of our pastoral and staff resources to best serve the diverse needs of our congregation and the FPCG mission.

The Stewardship Committee fosters an understanding of our church's mission and the spirit of generosity among the entire congregation. The Committee assists in leading the congregation's annual campaign to fund the church's annual operating budget, which is developed in partnership with the Finance Committee.

The Worship Committee oversees the quality of the worship and music experience at FPCG. Sunday worship continues to set a very high standard.

The Youth Committee seeks out mission opportunities, share fellowship and strengthen friend-mentorship bonds with Children's Ministry participants.
