Session

Ruling Elders, church members who serve on the Session board, assume responsibility for the life of the congregation as well as the whole church, including ecumenical relationships. Presented to the Congregation by the Nominating Committee, Ruling Elders represent the composition of the church membership and serve a term of three years. At First Presbyterian Church of Greenwich, the Session generally meets monthly with the Senior Pastor (Teaching Elder) acting as the Session Moderator.

The minutes of Session meetings are available to congregational members upon request.

After their service, Ruling Elders become Elders of the congregation without specific governing responsibilities.

Session members may be contacted at session@fpcg.org.

Messages go to all Session members.

ABOUT US

First Presbyterian Church of Greenwich was established in 1881. "The first service was held in a public hall on Easter Sunday. From the first service the divine blessing has followed and directed the work. Its members have consecrated themselves to Him who has thus far led them, and they go forward in the confidence that whatever else is needed, He, by His children, will supply..."
